How does the looper work?
The built-in looper allows you to record a loop for each part (Drum, Bass, Chord, and Lead). The four loops can be overdubbed and the tempo can be adjusted at any time. The song can be exported and shared as MIDI or audio using our cross-platform app.
Loops can be as short as a single bar or several minutes in length. Either way, you’ll have plenty of flexibility to lay down your ideas.

What does the Orba app do?
The Orba app is where you’ll be able to save your loops and songs, switch between different sound presets, export to other apps, and share to social media. It’s free to download and will be available on iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows.

Does Orba have its own sounds?
Yes! We designed an innovative new synthesizer engine for Orba, with a broad range of synth sounds that work seamlessly with various playing gestures. Orba’s embedded looper means you can layer multiple parts without ever looking at a screen. The built-in speaker lets you make sound immediately (and it’s loud enough for a bit of karaoke). Plug in headphones to play alone or an external amp to play it loud.

Does Orba use MIDI over Bluetooth?
Yes! Orba uses MIDI over Bluetooth LE to connect to phones and computers, meaning there’s no need to tether the device using a USB cable (although you’re welcome to, and one is provided). Bluetooth MIDI is fast enough for live musical play (under 20ms latency), and will work great with GarageBand, Logic Pro X, or any other digital audio workstation that accepts Bluetooth MIDI.

Is Orba an MPE controller?
Yes! Orba is indeed compatible with MIDI MPE synths. Each playing mode will output notes and CCs on their own channels. Thus, each note can have its own corresponding touch gesture (like Vibrato or Radiate), and there are movement gestures (like tilt and wave) which will apply to all notes. There will also be a single-channel MIDI compatibility mode for classic synths.

Is Orba polyphonic?
Yep! The embedded synth is polyphonic and multitimbral. In other words, multiple notes and multiple sounds, all capable of being looped and layered at the same time.

Yes! And the touch-sensitive surface will allow for continuous effects.

Does my pledge include shipping and taxes?
We cover all duties and taxes (including VAT) within the shipping costs. You will only need to pay for your shipping, which you’ll see calculated as soon as you begin your pledge.

Where do I enter my shipping details?
A survey will go out after the campaign is complete. You will fill out your mailing address and have the option to add additional items to your order, like the travel case and tee shirt.

Can I take the survey at the end of the campaign if I pledge one dollar?
You’ll need to back one of our six reward tiers to receive access to the backer form at the end of the campaign.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
